Mylex eXtremeRAID 3000
PCI to Fibre Channel RAID Controller

The eXtremeRAID 3000 fibre channel solution, best suited for SAN applications, offer full featured RAID with uncompromising fault tolerance, data availability, longer cable lengths, higher data transfer rates and the ability to attach up to 252 drives for capacities up to 18.1 Terabytes.

Performance/Features
The eXtremeRAID 3000 delivers unparalleled performance and is capable of sustaining disk transfer rates of over 90MB/sec and sustained cache transfer rates of over 180MB/sec. It's dual fibre loops for drive-connect provide redundant connections to give extra fault-tolerance for high-data availability applications. The split memory architecture provides for a cache (ECC for data, parity for execution code) size of 32MB and 64MB for optimum throughput. It uses the fastest (233MHz) RISC processor on a PCI-based RAID solution, up to two 100MB/sec Fibre channel loops, and a 64-bit, 33MHz PCI interface to provide extreme performance for servers.

Adding to the performance story is Mylex's proven, award-winning RAID firmware. The eXtremeRAID 3000 uses driver technology that has won Mylex more TPC-C benchmarks than any other RAID controller worldwide. With this technology, the eXtremeRAID 3000 provides the highest performance and most flexible RAID solution available.

Flexible Massive Storage & Fault Tolerance
The eXtremeRAID 3000, with two fibre loops, supports up to 252 drives allowing system configurations of over 18.1 Terabytes of high performance storage per controller. Using multiple eXtremeRAID 3000s, extremely large systems can be created.

The eXtremeRAID 3000 solution provides full RAID level 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 10, 30, 50 and JBOD configuration capabilities.

Mylex's eXtremeRAID 3000 has a multitude of fault detection and fault tolerance features, as well as new functions to ease setup, flexibility and management. Immediate RAID Availability (background initialisation) enables other setup tasks to be performed while the rest drives are being initialised. On line RAID Expansion allows users to add drives to existing arrays and restripe data across all the drives. The additional storage space created by the new drive expands the capacity of the existing logical drive or creates an additional logical drive. The copy drive group feature provides users with a method of transferring the contents of one logical drive to another in a single step.

Exceptional Ease of Use and Manageability
The eXtremeRAID 3000's comprehensive storage management capabilities come from Mylex's Java based Web Array Manager ™ (WAM) and the industry leading Global Array Manager ™ (GAM). These RAID management utilities allow users to remotely configure and monitor RAID subsystems using industry standard protocols. WAM/GAM is rich in management features, allowing users to easily manage their online storage.
