based storage systems, Mylex's FlashPoint™ LW provides a solution with a single
channel Wide SCSI PCI adapter. The FlashPoint LW incorporates the very latest in SCSI
technology, providing a single-chip board featuring SCSI data transfers of up to
40MB/second and Plug and Play with SCAM (SCSI Configured Automatically) Level 1. RAIDPlus
is a unique technological innovation that provides RAID 0, 1, and 0+1 levels of security
and performance as a standard built-in feature.
The FlashPoint LW supports up to 15 SCSI devices, including popular
Ultra SCSI hard drives, Fast SCSI drives, CD-ROM's, tape drives, scanners, magneto-optical
and removable media drives. With its on-board BIOS, FlashPoint can provide boot services
to any hard drive found on its SCSI bus. The SCSIVision CD
provides various interactive utilities, application and educational materials for handling
SCSI devices. The FlashPoint LW also features Mylex's easy-to-use AutoSCSI™ software
for quick installation and configuration.

The wide characteristics of the FlashPoint LW implemented with proven
SCSI technology, presents a solution both in the area of high data transfer rates and
higher reliability in data integrity. This, in turn, results in a much more efficient SCSI

data transfers of up to 33MB/second across the PCI local bus are also supported. Mylex's
SeqEngine, and innovative automation technology, provides built-in SCSI automation,

FlashPoint LW provides a true Plug and Play, no hassle installation by
adapting its con-figuration automatically when needed. Additionally, Plug and Play is
brought to the SCSI bus through FlashPoint LW's use of SCAM, assigning SCSI IDs for all
attached SCAM compliant devices. This eliminates conflicting IDs when installing new
devices. Manual configuration of FlashPoint LW may be accomplished through the use of the
ROM resident AutoSCSI utility, which provides a simple, easy to use, menu driven interface
for setting FlashPoint and device configuration options.
SCSIVision CD
The FlashPoint LW kit contains a SCSIVision CD. This is an advanced, user-friendly
graphical interface along with the simplicity of browsers and applications that are
closely associated with the existing popular operation systems (Windows95, Windows NT, and
Windows) offered on most PC systems today, SCSIVision is a collection of required and
useful utilities, peripheral applications, multimedia materials, tutorials and learning
tools presented in an exciting package, simplifying the configuration and handling of SCSI
con-trollers and SCSI peripheral devices.
